Mercedes CLS-Class Review

Overview4 out of 5

Everyone wants it all nowadays. They want the best of both worlds, the happy medium and the cake you can have and eat...

The CLS is cake you can gorge on. It's a bit of everything: a bit of sportiness here, a bit of practicality there. Throw in a bit of style to go with the substance and you've got that pot at the end of the rainbow: four-door practicality with coupe-like looks.

Now, almost four years after it was launched, Mercedes-Benz has given the CLS a refresh. It's got a new grille, with two louvres (spokes in front of the grille) rather than four and new diamond-shaped mesh-covered air intakes painted in grey.

Bigger wing mirrors with arrow-shaped LED lights on the front, new 18" alloys, tail-lights, trapezoidal tailpipes and a reworked rear bumper make up the rest of the exterior changes.

Inside, there's a whole host of changes - and an average price rise of 1.8% to pay for those extra gizmos.
