Mercedes CLK-Class Cabriolet Review

Comfort and Equipment3 out of 5

For a car as focused and hardcore as the CLK 63 AMG Black Series, there's enough suspension travel and ride height for the hyper Merc not to fall victim to nasty speed bumps or cavernous potholes, while at the same time providing passengers with a reasonable, if firm, ride.

Rear passengers, meanwhile, don't enter the equation at all: the newly positioned rear differential means that AMG has had to get rid of the back seats, replacing them with carpeted storage bins.

The limited standard specification of the Black Series reads more like a bargain basement city car than £100,000 sports car, with four airbags, remote locking and electric windows topping a very short list. Optioning the most basic sat nav adds £1,185, while a six-CD player costs £360.
