Mercedes CLC Review

Reliability and Quality3 out of 5

Mercedes still has a long way to go before it challenges the Japanese for reliability and owner satisfaction according to recent surveys.

Feedback from owners reports the brand's products are still dogged by the occasional niggling electrical faults that drag down the firm's overall ratings.

As for the perceived quality of the new CLC, there are areas where the old car's inferior quality is glaringly obvious. Note the horrible row of blank switches above the stereo. Then there's the nasty plastic backing behind the seat adjustments on the door panels and the cheap-feeling black sliding plastic lid over the single cupholder.

Some of our cars seemed to suffer excessive wind noise generated around its large glass sunroof, too.
