Not as practical as some rivals; dull cabin.
Unadventurous, but another good family-friendly Mercedes.

Fuel consumption has been improved: the C200 CDI returns 47.1mpg, the C220 CDI 46.3mpg and the C320 CDI 38.2mpg, with correspondingly manageable road tax. The petrol engines are better than their predecessors: the C180 K does 36.2mpg, the C200 K 35.3mpg, the C230 29.7mpg, the C280 29.4mpg, and the C350 27.9mpg.
However, carbon dioxide outputs are a tax-unfriendly 185g/km, 189g/km, 226g/km, 229g/km and 242g/km, with the V6s liable for the top-rate banding and, if it comes into force, the £25-a-day London congestion charge for band G cars.
