Mercedes C-Class Estate Review

Running Costs4 out of 5

The C180K is exceptionally efficient for a petrol estate, returning a fine combined fuel consumption figure of 39.8mpg.

Emissions are reasonable too, with the 1.8-litre four-cylinder emitting 168g/km of CO2, meaning business users attract a 20% Benefit-in-Kind tax liability. That's 1% lower than the C200 CDI diesel, although those who cover higher mileages will no doubt be seduced by the oil burner's theoretical ability to average 47.1mpg.
