Slightly contrived styling, 1.6 a bit tardy.
Still one of the best, despite its age.
All MX-5s come with driver and passenger airbags, but only the 1.8i S gets ABS. An immobiliser is standard and it's one of the few roadsters in its class to have a proper glass rear window in the hood.
