Mazda Mazda6 Estate Review

Safety and Security5 out of 5

Driver, passenger, side 'head and shoulder' and front and rear roof airbags are standard on all models, as well as ABS with EBD (electronic brakeforce distribution). Also standard are an immobiliser, remote central locking and a Thatcham Category 1 alarm. There are no Euro NCAP crash test results yet, but the car's strong structure should serve it well. Mazda claims its standard brakes are "best in class", though TS2 specification models add dynamic stability control (DSC), traction control (TSC) and emergency brake assist.
