Lexus IS 250C (2009-) Review

Category: Convertibles 3 out of 5

Summary of the Lexus IS 250C (2009-)

Price Range: £34,550 to £39,350

Assets

Refined and comfortable, quiet with the roof up, likely to be very reliable.

Drawbacks

Dull driving manners, underwhelming V6 engine, expensive.

Verdict

A good choice for anyone after a smooth boulevard cruiser, but it's pricey and won't satisfy keener drivers.

Lexus IS 250C Review

Comfort and Equipment4 out of 5

For most people, the Lexus IS250C's cabin will prove a very comfortable place to spend time. It's fitted with a full complement of high-end technology to make life easier, including Bluetooth telephony, cruise control and a top-notch sat nav and media system with MP3 capability.

There are so many gadgets that the array of buttons that operate them looks cluttered on the dashboard. It needs a more integrated system along the lines of the latest RX SUV.

The seats, which both cool and heat, are comfortable and completely adjustable electronically. However, taller drivers may struggle with the width of the footwell, which can obstruct knees over long journeys, and there's not much headroom in the back with the roof up.
