It's a bit boring but makes a practical pragmatic purchase.

Review

Overview3.5 out of 5

The Avensis Verso was the sort-of replacement for the earlier Picnic, and looks pretty similar too. However, the seven-seat Avensis Verso is a substantially different family vehicle. It's not a compact Scenic/Zafira rival - that position is held by the Corolla Verso - but something altogether bigger. The Avensis Verso, based on the Avensis hatchback/saloon/estate range like its name suggests, is a real MPV rather than a swollen estate car, and is intended to be a smaller, more car-like alternative to the cavernous Previa.

As such, it makes a decent compromise between space and comfort and performance and handling - though it feels like exactly that, a compromise. Shame it looks so undistinguished, too.
