Class-best rear legroom, not far off Audi levels of quality, quiet cruiser.
Strange rear styling, not as good to drive as the Mondeo. Ride quality deteriorates with bigger wheels.
Entry-level diesel is pick of the spacious Superb range with low emissions, plenty of kit and an overwhelming feeling of top-drawer quality.

Refreshingly, Skoda has followed some of its more expensive sister brands by leaving most of what you want on the options lists. The base 'S' trim comes generously equipped though, with 16" alloys, air conditioning, MP3 connection and seven airbags and ESP as standard.
Pay £2,030 to upgrade to the SE trim and you gain larger 17" alloys, climate control an Alcantara suede-like interior and parking sensors as well as a useful trip computer.
Finally, a hefty £4,480 over the base trim (the 103bhp diesel not available) bags you the flagship Elegance trim. That adds the biggest 18" wheels, full leather trim, touchscreen satnav and trick adaptive lamps that shape the light beam for the driving environment. Bluetooth is only available as standard on the range-topping Elegance trim.
All Superbs in the UK come equipped with its Twindoor rear hatch that allows two alternatives to open the rear boot - either as a saloon-like opening or a full hatch for bulkier goods.
Comfort has been a main priority for Skoda engineers when developing the Superb, that's why all but the biggest-wheeled cars have comfortable, supple suspension and supportive seats whether in the front or the rear.
