Prestige is just as important as luxury in this market sector, which makes Toyota's achievement with the LS430 all the more remarkable. Toyota created the Lexus marque as its upmarket brand more than a decade ago and quickly gained a reputation for build quality and reliability that had even Mercedes and BMW ruffled. Not the most exciting car to drive - although it is quick - the LS 430 majors on refinement and luxury.
