Superb ride and handling; luxurious; stylish; great engine/gearbox combo.
Switchgear could be better; sat nav is unreliable and unintuitive; expensive, especially when you start adding options.
This new, more powerful and sportier Quattroporte is great to drive and has a real presence on the road.

As an 'exclusive' marque, Maserati sells in relatively small numbers, so there's no real data on reliability in any of the major customer surveys.
However, the Quattroporte S seems well put together, with mostly high-quality materials. It doesn't quite come up to the standards of the likes of Audi, though, with some buttons and switchgear feeling a little lacking in solidity.
For example, there was a bit of lateral movement of the buttons on the air con in the centre console, moving about in their housings. OK, so this is a bit picky, but when you're spending at least £85,000 for a luxury car, the little things matter.
