Review

Comfort and Equipment3.5 out of 5

By most standards this is a very comfortable car. But by the rarefied standards of the class it feels firm underfoot, especially in the case of the Sport GT S. The seats are sumptuously supportive and all have electric adjustment, as does the steering wheel. Noise levels are low, helped by the sound-insulating laminated glass, but you get the pleasure of hearing the engine when it's given its head.

The boot isn't huge, partly because the fuel tank is stacked vertically behind the rear seat and there has to be space in front of it for the electric seat motors. These recline the rear seats by moving the cushion forward, and even when this is done there's plenty of rear legroom. The rear seat is sculpted for two, but a third person can sit in the middle if needed. Rear-seat passengers can also have their own air-con controls.

The Quattroporte comes with everything you need, and everything you don't need is available on the extensive options list, in pretty much any combination of colours and materials that takes your fancy.
