Great looks, loads of kit, seven-seat practicality, feels tough enough for anything.
Suspension struggles to iron out poor road surfaces, engine sounds cruder than it is.

The Pathfinder's official combined fuel consumption figures of 28.8mpg for the manual and 283 for the auto drop to 23.5 and 21.9mpg around town, so it's thirsty, but no more so than other two-tonne SUVs. Emissions of 264/283g/km of CO2 put the Pathfinder into the highest road tax bracket.
It falls into insurance groups 13 and 14, depending on the specification level, which is on a par with the Land Cruiser and Discovery. Like all Nissans it comes with a three-year/60,000-mile manufacturer's warranty, and the Pathfinder tends to hold its value well.
