Lamborghini Murcielago Review

Running Costs2.5 out of 5

You can expect your insurance quote to be stratospheric, your servicing to match the GDP of some small countries, and your fuel bill to make NASA jealous. On top of that there are made-to-measure Pirelli tyres that run into four figures a set. Need we say more? Unlikely to become a second-hand bargain for an awful long time to come. With just a handful being delivered to the UK every month, used prices will stay high. Audi's influence in the build quality department should help those buying second-hand, but remember that these cars will have been used hard and there are questionmarks over mechanical longevity. You can't escape the fact that this car is nearly fifty grand more expensive than a Ferrari 360 Spider. Admittedly you're getting an extra 180 bhp, permanent four-wheel drive and entry to an exclusive club that admits just 400 people a year, but how can you give a car that costs more than your average house any more than two stars for value for money. And to not throw in sat-nav seems a bit cheap at this price.
