Verdict

Cheap, unassuming way of getting from A to B, but there are better, more-rounded city cars out there.

Kia Picanto Review

Running Costs3 out of 5

On the whole, the Kia Picanto should be one of the cheapest cars on the road to run. The 61bhp 1.0-litre engine averages 57.6mpg and emits 117g/km, meaning it comfortably slips in the VED Band B.

Not so impressive are the running costs for the bigger, more powerful, 1.1-litre. That car averages 53.3mpg and emits 126g/km of carbon dioxide - a disappointing figure since the Hyundai i10 with which it shares an engine slips comfortably into sub-120g/km emissions.
