Summary of the Jeep Wrangler (2007-)

Price Range: £16,150 to £23,100

Drawbacks

On-road performance compared to rivals, thirsty petrol engine.

Verdict

Much improved on the outgoing model, but still a niche SUV.

Jeep Wrangler Review

Running Costs2 out of 5

The diesel manages 30.4mpg on the combined cycle when fitted with the manual gearbox, dropping to 28.5mpg with the automatic. CO2 emissions range from 246 to 268 g/km, putting the Wrangler firmly into the high Band G tax band, meaning expensive tax bills and high parking charges in some areas.

Don't expect the Wrangler to hold its value particularly well, either; depreciation on the old one was savage, but should improve slightly with this revamp - the diesel will perform better than the limited-appeal petrol.
