American cars tend not to score highly when it comes to build quality, and the Wrangler doesn't buck the trend. It's not as bad as something like a Dodge Avenger, but its way off the mark compared to most modern SUVs.
The interior is a simple straightforward affair with hard-wearing plastics and unfussy details, so should stand up to the daily rigours of life well. There are a few areas where the fit and finish around the cabin isn't great. But overall, the Wrangler feels solidly put together.
It independent reliability surveys, Jeep has scored very badly for a number of years, so be wary that repairs might prove costly a few down the line.
