In the days before 4x4s became fashionable, those on sale in Britain tended to be big, expensive and under-equipped, so it's no surprise that the UK took to the friendly American Cherokee. These days, though, it's lagging behind more up-to-date rivals - interior space, in particular, is limited. Nonetheless, it is easy to drive and to own, which are important qualities in a 4x4.
