Verdict

An impressive reinterpretation of the Cherokee theme

Jeep Cherokee Review

Safety and Security4 out of 5

The unibody construction should make this Cherokee better able to absorb frontal impacts than the old one without subjecting occupants to excessive deceleration forces. Two front airbags are standard, plus side curtain airbags in the Limited, while standard-fit ABS and electronic brake-force distribution help you avoid the accident in the first place. All versions come with an alarm and a key-transponder immobiliser, but the chime that warns if you open the driver's door without removing the key is extremely annoying.
