Category: Exotic Sports 4 out of 5

Summary of the Jaguar XKR (2009-)

Price Range: £69,505 to £78,400

Assets

Fantastic performance, great to drive, glamorous looks.

Drawbacks

Expensive to run, ride can be quite firm in the 'Dynamic' setting.

Verdict

The XKR is furiously fast, fun to drive, yet still comfortable and sumptuous when you just want to cruise. It's a great GT.

Jaguar XKR Review

Running Costs3 out of 5

Cars in this class are never cheap to run, but some are better than others: the XKR lags some way behind the new 911 Carrera's 30+mpg and 225g/km of carbon dioxide. Anything over 20mpg requires a saintly approach to the right hand pedal and it only just dips below the 300g/km mark - although it's better than its big-engine GT rivals.

Jaguar are also keen to point out that the new engine is no more thirsty of polluting then the old one - no mean feat considering that it is massively more powerful.
