Jaguar XK (2006-) Review

Category: Exotic Sports 4 out of 5

Summary of the Jaguar XK (2006-)

Price Range: £60,995 to £66,995

Assets

Best-looking car in the class, sensational gearbox and an engine note to die for.

Drawbacks

Lousy boot space and an interior that doesn't quite live up to the promise of that gorgeous body.

Verdict

A first-rate evolutionary step on from the last XK, this is the best Grand Touring (GT) car that Jag has ever done. But it's not a sports car.

Jaguar XK Review

Reliability and Quality3.5 out of 5

The XK's engine is a well-proven unit and should give good service.

The cars we drove also felt very solidly put together, an impression no doubt helped by the much-improved stiffness of the body structure.

The last XK had some minor teething problems to do with interior trim, but this one looks more of a piece and we'd predict that it'll have a quiet life.

Basically, this is a car that has benefited from Ford's production processes and, frankly, if it's as reliable as a Mondeo, buyers will be fine.
