Infiniti G37 Review

Overview3 out of 5

Unknown Japanese manufacturer launches a luxury four-door with a fuel-guzzling petrol-only 3.7-litre petrol engine into a crowded market full of tried-and-tested German brands.

Doesn't sound too good does it?

Well, the reality is, it's not. The G37 has got its work cut out in a category full of class acts: BMW has its impressive 330i, Merc's offering the mighty C350 and Audi's A4 3.2 FSI Quattro cannot be dismissed either, but with the odds stacked against it, Infiniti is remains confident nonetheless.

In the coming years Infiniti thinks the German brands will become the victims of their own success and familiarity will eventually breed contempt.

Until then the brand is realistic. Instead of ambitious sales quotas, it's put together a 'getting to know us' marketing strategy.

Touting the G37 as an alternative luxury car for the discerning buyer, Infiniti is promising an ownership experience like no other, with dealers primed to deliver the highest levels of customer service. The question arises: can the G37 satisfy the buyers already well accustomed to excellence?
