Hyundai i10 Review

Running Costs5 out of 5

Here's where the i10 scores: it doesn't get much cheaper than this. The initial asking price is low, residual values should be quite good and who needs a diesel with fuel consumption of 56.5mpg?

The 119g/km carbon dioxide output qualifies the manual i10 for tax band B - £35 a year and, as of October 2008, exemption from the £8-a-day London congestion charge.

The auto will be a bit dearer to run: 48.7mpg and 139g/km, Band C tax (£105 for 2007-08, rising to £110 for 2008-09) and no free entry to central London.

Bear in mind alsol that opting for the 15" alloy wheels (standard in Style versions) also tips the manual into Band C, as emissions rise to 124g/km and fuel economy also falls to 61.4mpg.
