Hyundai Coupe Review

Overview3 out of 5

The Hyundai Coupe has been around since 1996, underwent a major overhaul in 2000, and has since been facelifted in 2005 and again in 2007. The latest design sees angular headlights, revised bumpers and a cleaning up of the side profile - the once iconic gills below the side repeater are now small vents.

All versions now receive leather trim (half leather on 1.6), blue backlighting to the instruments and an iPod connection for the CD/radio.

Engines available are a 2.7-litre V6 with 165bhp, a 2.0-litre with 141bhp and an entry-level 1.6-litre 106bhp version. An automatic gearbox is offered on the 2.0-litre and V6 models too. This third-generation Coupe marks not only a significant advance for the Coupe range itself, but also the maturing of Hyundai into a maker of products that are now seriously rivalling the European mainstream.

Lovely car to drive. Not a bad amount of power when you punch it as long as you use the revs. Value ...
