Has the looks and the handling

Doesn't have the interior quality, the great engine or a low enough price

Verdict

The hand of Lotus makes Satria GTi a great Proton, but only a good hot hatch

Review

Reliability and Quality2 out of 5

They may be fairly reliable, but the interior quality of Protons leaves a lot to be desired. Sadly, the Satria GTi is no exception. The trim material is horrid and cheap, complete with a black-spots-on-silver finish on some areas of the dashboard. If it's supposed to look like carbonfibre, it doesn't. The bucket seats, though supportive, rock on their mountings, and there are various clunks and thunks from the drivetrain while manoeuvring. All this means that the Satria GTi is one of the least impressive performers in the class in terms of quality.
