Fits six and their luggage; Honda's legendary reliability; generous finance and insurance scheme, diesel engine
Wind noise, some interior fittings feel a bit flimsy.
A flexible family car from Honda, with a peach of a diesel engine.

The FR-V really does seat three adults up front and three behind in comfort. The centre seat on both rows slides backwards to make a V formation with the seats. This means that you're not rubbing shoulders with those next to you, which is especially good for the driver. The three rear seats can be folded individually flat into the floor with a simple tug on a release lever.
The front centre seat can be flipped down to become a large armrest for the driver and outer passenger, or it can transform into a small table top. There's a large under-seat drawer, too - ideal for items such as CDs. With the centre seat in an upright position, the seat squab can be folded forward to reveal a large storage area.
Climate control is standard on all models, as are electric windows and mirrors. An integrated single CD player with RDS radio makes it onto entry-level models, while a boot mounted CD-stacker is optional. The FR-V is the first Honda to be offered with a Bluetooth module as a dealer-fit option. It costs £180 and consists of a three-button unit that fits onto the A-pillar above the driver.
