Plenty of style, plus space and practicality too.

Better on-road than off. Prices still high.

Not just a lifestyle plaything, but a usable and stylish machine. Relaibility all-but guaranteed, too.

Honda CR-V Review

Running Costs3.5 out of 5

Servicing costs are the same as for Honda saloon cars, with widely spaced 12,000-mile intervals. The CR-V delivers reasonable fuel economy, at around 28mpg, while insurance is affordable, starting at group 9. Resale values remain strong as this sector of the 4x4 market continues to flourish. This so-called leisure vehicle continues to prosper, despite a negative image forcing down 'full-sized' 4x4 values. Used buyers appreciate its style, refinement and space, and resale values are solid. All models are well equipped, but the ES has a slightly higher standard spec, which might swing it for a future used-car buyer. The CR-V is a unique package, and a generously equipped one, too. The LS has an electric sunroof, airbags, ABS brakes and electric windows, the ES adds alloy wheels and electric sunroof, while the SE has 'useful' lifestyle gadgets such as a fridge and shower. Honda's reputation for building reliable cars makes this a vehicle that will last.
