Honda Civic Type-R Championship White (2008-) Review

Category: Hot Hatchbacks 4 out of 5

Summary of the Honda Civic Type-R Championship White (2008-)

Price Range: £14,750 to £21,780

Assets

Incredible traction, glorious induction noise, one of the best gear changes around.

Drawbacks

Still lacks low-down urge, fussy split rear tailgate, uncompromising ride.

Verdict

Limited slip diff almost transforms the Type R into one of the very best hot hatches.

Honda Civic Review

Used Value4 out of 5

Rule of thumb for most mass-produced cars is the most expensive car in the range loses the most amount of money come resale. Not so with the Civic Type R. The Type R will hold onto most of your money, retaining 50% of its original value after three years and 36,000 miles. That figure mirrors the Volkswagen Golf GTi, and beats the 47% a Ford Focus ST retains.
