Excellent engines, economy, fun handling, low running costs, reliability, spaciousness.
Firm ride, engine noise, plain-looking 5dr, somewhat bland interior.
One of the most sensible cars if you're seeking practicality and efficiency. Not the most comfortable though, nor the most fun.

The Civic's interior's a little austere, with some unyielding trims and workmanlike fabrics, but most occupants should find it fits them well - ergonomically, it's pretty much spot-on. The flat floor also means you can move around inside it easily, if you really want to, while it's automatically more comfortable than others thanks to all that space.
However, ride quality is not the smoothest in the sector, while noise is also perhaps a little high, particularly from engines; indeed, the diesel is often the most refined, simply because it doesn't need to rev as highly. You get a reasonable level of kit with the Civic; even base models come with electric front windows, remote central locking, ABS and four airbags. S trim adds air conditioning and electric mirrors. Move up to an SE for an electric sunroof and electric rear windows, while SE Sports get climate control, alloy wheels, CD player and, on SE Executives, leather trim. More models should get a CD player though.
