Civics are an easy drive and combine low fuel consumption with peppy performance. They hold their value well, and enjoy outstanding reliability.
Dull looks, average crash protection and the three door's firm ride are off-putting.
A tempting and sound buy that is no trouble to own.

Like most Japanese cars, the Civic is light work to drive, making it less hassle than many in town. The only black mark is poor rear visibility in the five door. The enthusiastic engines help here, as does light, confidence-boosting power steering and slick gearchange. Not up to the Peugeot 306 or Ford Focus for entertainment value, but good.
All Civics perform with a brisk, if slightly noisy enthusiasm. The engines have to be revved to give their best, but they're well mannered and enjoyable to drive behind.
