Ford Focus Review

Reliability and Quality4 out of 5

Ford Team RS has worked hard to ensure the new Focus RS isn't a flaky one-off special that's as fast as it is delicate. So it's built on the same assembly line as any other Focus model, ensuring build and quality are as good as the regular hatch. Saves them money, too.

Team RS's thoroughness extends to every aspect of the RS. Instead of bolting on the engine and differential and hoping for the best, the RS underwent over 10,000 hours of testing plus 3,000 shakedown miles on the punishing Nurburgring.

Inside, the RS Focus misses out on a bespoke interior, sharing cabin architecture with a car that can cost half as much. Team RS have improved the cabin by covering it in RS decals and adding Recaro sports seats, but the cabin is still run-of-the-mill.
