Category: Small Family
Price Range: £16,700 to £22,845
Fuel economy, excellent handling, quality cabin.
Pricey, noisy engine, long gearing.
Worth paying the £250 extra over a TDCi Style? Maybe.

There's enough kit: air-con, CD, electric front windows, electric wing mirrors and alloy wheels are all standard. You'll pay £375 extra for metallic paint, £500 more for an electric sunroof and £200 for rear parking sensors. It's essentially in Zetec spec which means you get good quality upholstery and some extra trim both inside and out.
Ford has equipped all models with the anti-misfuelling device fitted to the Mondeo to ensure that costly diesel/petrol howlers are a thing of the past.
It's pretty comfortable inside: steering adjusts for rake and reach and there's plenty of adjustment within the seating to get you in the perfect driving position.
The diesel engine is overly noisy and you do get fair bit of road noise from the 15" tyres, so it's not a totally peaceful environment when you're pottering around town. However, get the Econetic out on the motorway and the engine noise settles: it is a very good cruising car
