Ford Focus Review

Safety and Security5 out of 5

Ford remains proud that the Focus is within Euro NCAP's top 10 safest cars ever tested, achieving the full five stars for occupant protection in the Euro NCAP crash tests, with four for child protection (with Ford's approved child seats) and two for pedestrian protection.

As standard, all Focuses come with twin front and side-airbags, with curtain airbags and, from 2008, standard ESP and hazard warning lights that illuminate under heavy braking.

Other active safety features, although these are optional, include tyre pressure sensors, voice-recognition for some controls, Bluetooth integration and relatively affordable adaptive headlamps, which swivel to 'peer round' corners.

All cars come with remote central locking, deadlocks and an alarm system.
