Drives well, feels more expensive than it is.
Poor rear legroom, petrol engines struggle.
Good enough to elbow its way into an overcrowded marketplace.

You sit slightly lower in the CC's front seats than the hatchback's, but the emphasis is on comfort rather than sportiness. The two rear seats are a decent size and shape for adults - so long as the person sitting in front of them has very short legs. Otherwise the rear seats are for kids only. And if there are passengers in the back you can't use the optional wind deflector, which makes a useful contribution to the general lack of wind blast when you're driving with the roof down.
The boot is the biggest in its class at 534 litres with the roof up, but that shrinks to an inconveniently small 248 litres when the roof is in the boot. The glovebox is vast, but it needs to be as the door pockets are extremely slender.
CC-1 specification (available only with the 1.6 engine, priced £16,795) includes 16" alloy wheels, a CD player, air-conditioning, and electric windows and mirrors. CC-2 (£17,795 for the 2.0 petrol, £19,270 for the diesel) has 17" wheels, front foglights, a leather steering wheel and slightly sportier suspension. CC-3 (£18,795 petrol, £20,210 diesel) adds cruise control, electronic adjustment for the driver's seat, heated front seats, a six-disc CD changer, front and rear mats and automatic lights and wipers.
