Affordable, compact, roomy, user-friendly.
Rather spartan.
Obviously a van with seats and windows, but it's cheap, cheerful and practical.

With such a high roof and boxy outline, the Fiat Qubo is never going to handle like a hot hatch, but it's actually pretty nifty. It corners with little body roll, even at enthusiastic speeds.
Controls are clear, well laid-out and simple to operate. All-round vision is excellent, with huge windows and windscreen. However, the wide tailgate glass collects dirt easily and the rear windscreen wiper isn't up to the job - it's still in position for left-hand drive models and it doesn't sweep right over into the right-hand corner.
The Qubo's hardly quick - the top speed is 96mph, and 0-60mph acceleration comes up in 16.2s (petrol) or 16.5s (diesel) - but it's as fast as it needs to be.
It has a tight turning circle and it's easy to manoeuvre, so it's well-suited to city use, where a snappy 0-30mph also comes in handy. On the motorway the Qubo can maintain a happy 70mph once up and running.
The diesel (75bhp, 140lb-ft) is considerably stronger mid-range than the petrol (73bhp, 87lb-ft). It's also quieter, as it isn't quite so stretched.
