Summary of the Fiat Qubo (2009-)

Price Range: £9,755 to £12,350

Affordable, compact, roomy, user-friendly.

Drawbacks

Rather spartan.

Verdict

Obviously a van with seats and windows, but it's cheap, cheerful and practical.

Fiat Qubo Review

Reliability and Quality4 out of 5

The Fiat brand has scored badly in reliability and customer satisfaction surveys, but its Tofas-built vans are pretty tough and most of its components have been tried and tested in other Fiat Group vehicles.

Both the petrol and diesel engines are well-proven - the diesel has been fitted in millions of Vauxhall/Opel cars as well as in Fiats - and they're thoroughly debugged by now. There's not much by way of complex electronica to go wrong, either.

It's a no-frills vehicle, with its painted-metal interior door panels, shiny nylon seat upholstery and expanses of plastic, but details such as the hose-clean black rubber flooring are a great idea: why have hard-to-clean carpets in a car like this?
