Smooth, willing and flexible 1.6 diesel engines, good economy.
Uninspiring handling, patchy interior, lack of steering feel, low-speed ride.
This 1.6 diesel engine is one of the best options in the Bravo range - though the low-emissions 105bhp version is better still.

Ride quality is a weak spot with the Bravo: even on the smaller 16" wheels, the ride never settles, transmitting road surface imperfections into the cabin. Our cars also did a poor job of isolating occupants from road rumble, especially on the bigger 17" wheels.
Standard specification is about par for the class. The base car gets a CD player, remote locking, height-adjustable drivers' seat and four airbags, but no air conditioning. That becomes standard equipment on the Active trim (+£1,300) that also adds curtain bags and fog lamps.
An upgrade to Dynamic trim ( an extra £1,100 over Active) adds alloys, Bluetooth and USB connection, climate control, 16" alloys and cruise control.
Finally the range-topping Sport (an additional £1,400) brings bigger 17" wheels, sports seats and ESP.
