Fiat Bravo 1.6 Multijet 120 (2008-) Review

Category: Small Family 3 out of 5

Summary of the Fiat Bravo 1.6 Multijet 120 (2008-)

Price Range: £13,255 to £17,650

Assets

Smooth, willing and flexible 1.6 diesel engines, good economy.

Drawbacks

Uninspiring handling, patchy interior, lack of steering feel, low-speed ride.

Verdict

This 1.6 diesel engine is one of the best options in the Bravo range - though the low-emissions 105bhp version is better still.

Fiat Bravo Review

Running Costs4 out of 5

The 1.6 MultiJet 120 engine delivers fine economy - 57.6mpg. Not bad, though the 105 Eco version returns a more impressive 62.8mpg. Carbon dioxide emissions stand at 129g/km, not low enough for the £35-a-year Band B road tax, but good enough for the lowest 18% BIK bracket for company car users.

Fiat has also slashed running costs by stretching the servicing schedule from an already impressive 18,000 miles to a class-leading 22,000 miles. Companies again will benefit. For those leasing cars for the typical three years/60,000 miles, that means one service and three costly visits to the garage fewer than a car with 12,000-mile service intervals.
