Category: Convertibles 4 out of 5

Summary of the Fiat 500C (2009-)

Price Range: £11,700 to £14,500

Assets

Ultra-chic, easy-to-use roof, remarkably civilised drive.

Drawbacks

Poor rear visibility, reflected light blinds instruments, 1.2-litre engine sometimes struggles.

Verdict

Refined, easy to use, well made and great to look at: it's worth the hefty price hike.

Fiat 500C Review

Running Costs4 out of 5

All three engines available with the 500C promise good economy, particularly the 1.2 and 1.3 diesel, with combined figures of 55.4mpg and 67.3mpg, respectively. The 1.4 manages 46.3mpg.

The 1.2 and diesel emit relatively low CO2 emissions of 119g/km and 110g/km (costing owners just £35 in road tax), with the 1.4 emitting 149g/km (£125). Insurance costs are competitive too, as are servicing bills.
