The most comfortable 500, perhaps surprisingly, is the one carrying the Sport tag. That's because the base Pop and range-topping Lounge lack the Sport seats with thicker bolsters providing more lateral support. But even without the sportier seats, it's possible to get quite comfortable in the front of the 500. In the rear, though, both headroom and legroom is limited for adults.
As equipment levels go, the 500 is well-kitted out for a city car. All models get seven airbags, remote locking, a height-adjustable driver's seat and trip computer. Upgrading to either Sport and Lounge models (£1,400) adds air conditioning, 15-inch alloy wheels, body coloured door mirrors, Bluetooth hands-free phone/USB connections as well as voice-recognition controls.
Be very wary of the options list, however - it's all too easy to get carried away with the almost infinite choices for personalising your 500. Problem is, on first glance the options seem very reasonably priced, but they quickly add up. Chequered roof (£120), anyone?
