Perhaps it's a little churlish not to give five out of five to the petite 500 for safety, as EuroNCAP has already awarded Fiat the maximum five stars for adult occupancy protection, but Fiat has left ESP (stability control) on the options list. £200 is a small price to pay for peace of mind, but one that's likely to be ignored by most buyers in lieu of bonnet stripes and wheel upgrades. All versions have seven airbags, however.
