Ferrari has never enjoyed a Porsche-type reputation for building mechanically indestructible cars. It has helped foster the view over the years that these are recreational cars and not everyday road weapons. Yet, despite some clearly less than immaculate welding visible on the carpetless floor, the Scuderia feels very strong, and in a day's hard driving gave no sense of impending doom. So while Ferraris may not yet guarantee Porsche levels of dependability, standards are clearly rising and come backed a four-year warranty.
