Aston Martin DB7 (1994-2004) Review

Category: Exotic Sports 3 out of 5

Summary of the Aston Martin DB7 (1994-2004)

Price Range: No data available

Assets

Looks, appealing cabin, Vantage's handling and engine, exclusivity.

Drawbacks

Manual transmission is clunky. Non-Vantage car's handling no match for rivals. Cramped for tall drivers.

Verdict

A lovely object, and a pretty fine car.

Review

Overview3 out of 5

The coupe is, without being flash, one of the most fabulously beautiful cars made. It's fast, too, thanks to a characterful supercharged six-cylinder engine. The Vantage, with a V12, goes harder still. The cockpit is all fine leather, veneer and wool carpet. There's also a convertible version, called the Volante, which is sadly not quite as beautiful (the folded roof doesn't sit quite flush) but even more glamorous.

The DB7 in its day felt dated compared to the cheaper Jaguar XKR, but was always more exclusive. The Vantage, genuinely faster than the XKR, was highly desirable then and remains so now.
