Price Range: No data available

Assets

3.2 V6, dynamic drive, equipment

No diesel, depreciation, maligned dealer network

Verdict

A credible alternative to the Peugeot 607 and Renault Vel Satis, but not in the same league as the BMW 5-Series, Mercedes E-Class or Audi A6.

Review

Running Costs1 out of 5

All engines are thirsty (29mpg - 2.0, 21mpg - 3.0 V6, 22.6mpg - 3.2 V6) and as there's no diesel in the range you won't find a cheap-to-run 166. Insurance groupings are high too, ranging from 15 for the 2.0 to 17 for the 3.2 V6. High carbon dioxide outputs means high road tax, too - even the 2.0 emits 230g/km, with the 3.2 V6 doing 297g/km and the 3.0 V6 310g/km.
