Dodge Journey (2008-) Review

Category: Large MPV 3 out of 5

Summary of the Dodge Journey (2008-)

Price Range: £16,800 to £22,700

Assets

Practical, easy-to-use rear-seating system: plenty of kit; good value for money.

Drawbacks

Bouncy ride, unsupportive seats, noisy engine around town, poor handling.

Verdict

It's not wonderful to drive but if you have a large family, the roomy cabin makes this MPV fit for purpose.

Dodge Journey Review

Running Costs3 out of 5

The 2.0-litre Journey emits 171g/km of carbon dioxide and that puts it in road tax Band E, which compares favourably with others in the class. Official fuel consumption figures suggest that you'll get around 43mpg from the 2.0-litre diesel. Go for the 2.4-litre petrol and you achieve 32.1mpg on average but you'll be emitting 209g/km of carbon dioxide.

Insurance payments shouldn't be too horrendous: the 2.4-litre is in group 11 and the 2.0-litre diesel is in group 10 or 11 depending on the transmission choice.
