If you like the looks, this is a neat way to stand out without compromising on practicality.
Other small cars may feel subjectively stronger, but the Materia has all the safety kit you could reasonably expect for a car of this price. The basics are all in place: driver, passenger and side airbags, side impact beams, two Isofix mountings for child seats, and anti-lock brakes with electronic brakeforce distribution. The rear brakes are humble drums, but that's not a problem on a 1,035kg car.
Remote central locking is standard.
