It's too early to be sure how the Materia will fare on the used market. The more conventional Sirion holds on to more than 40% of its value after three years, reflecting that car's reliability and the brand's no-nonsense appeal. The Materia isn't a car you could call no-nonsense, but it's built to the same high standard.
To an extent its used value will depend on how popular it proves to be as a new car. It's unlikely to sell in huge numbers, but could well develop a cult following like the Chrysler PT Cruiser or the Nissan Figaro.
