Beautiful styling, sophisticated manners and tuneful engines.
Looks and feels dated now. Suffers from scuttle shake on bumpy roads, small boot, chassis struggles to deliver V6 grunt.
Bigger and less aggressive than some rival roadsters but still desirable.
An elderly design, the Spider doesn't offer the crash protection of newer rivals, with no high-tech rollover protection, and not the most rigid of structures. A driver's airbag was standard, however. Security-wise& the usual problems of a canvas hood.
