Ageing well - it was a good design to start with, and subtle but worthwhile updates have kept it competitive. The Mercedes SL is the better car, though.
In case you didn't realise, Ford owns Jaguar now and has vastly improved the company's previously poor reputation for reliability and build quality. Apart from the odd minor electrical problem, such as malfunctioning alarms/immobilisers, the XK8 has proved to be a Jaguar you can rely on - even after big mileages.
